At the foot of Hardangervidda is the beautiful village of Rauland, about 1000m above sea level. The village is a wonderful place to live in, not least because it lies in one of Norway's most diverse cultural districts, Vinje in Telemark.

The district welcomes those who want to spend more time out in the fresh air and the locals are hapy to share their fantastic nature with new guests. In addition to the magnificent scenery, Rauland is known as having Norway's highest density of snowmobiles.

Many of the visitors to Rauland think it's cold here during the winter. We call it refreshing
